To Our Valued Customers and Partners:
We are living through an extraordinary time with the fast spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19. We recognize the trust you place in us as your business partner, and when we service and deliver your equipment and supplies. Our number one priority always is, and has been, the health and safety of our employees, clients, partners and their families. We are not going to reiterate what you have been hearing in the news surrounding public safety. Instead, we are sending this update to address our service engagement, machine care, and supply chain.
As you will understand, we are prioritizing our healthcare customers to keep them fully operational.
Many of our customers have implemented procedures in response to this event. If you are one of them, please let us know so that we can document and follow your guidelines.
We have implemented our own policies regarding servicing the equipment you have under contract. Our service technicians have been instructed to wear disposable gloves before touching machines, sanitizing common touch points on the devices, and washing their hands and/or using hand sanitizer when they are finished with their service call.
To help you keep your environments safe, we want to provide some guidelines for cleaning multifunction printers.
- Devices should be cleaned at least daily, unless your organization has more frequent disinfection guidelines;
- We recommend using pre-saturated wipes with 65-95% alcohol;
- Do not use Lysol or ammonia-based products to clean the screens on printers – no Windex!
HP OfficeJet Pro X, HP PageWide Pro, and HP PageWide Color devices are ink-based machines that require a specific print volume to keep print heads operating properly. While it may not be possible to print the volume that these machines require, they do have the ability to self-maintain. For these devices to self-maintain, they must remain powered on even if they are not being used.
Supply Chain Update
At this time, COVID-19 has not impacted equipment, parts and supplies availability. In general, HP consumables are not manufactured in China. We also partner with several distribution partners to ensure that we have options when it comes to supporting our customers and have been advised of no supply chain issues.
